This is a case study of a garden redesign in Hertfordshire, carried out in phases. On this page you can see pictures of the garden before work began, and then tour through the different aspects of the work on the menu below.
The owners wanted to add interest and depth to the back garden as a whole, maintaining the established "lush, green look" while providing improved screening from neighbouring properties. A further aim was to provide sheltered climber-covered seating areas. These were to provide places to sit and view the garden, as well as forming a feature visible from the house. The patio was in need of renovation, linking the hard landscaping to a new extension with French doors.
At the front, they wanted a thorough rethink of the drive and front step to complement a new porch. This entailed designing new hard landscaping, replanting of the borders and laying a new lawn area.
